The new production equipment provides students with direct insight into modern plastic injection molding and automated manufacturing processes. The Zhafir injection molding machine, provided for use by PlastMa d.o.o., Serbia, and equipped with an integrated robotic system, enables laboratory exercises, demonstrations of manufacturing processes, as well as the development and testing of various components and prototype products.
Through hands-on work, students become familiar with the entire manufacturing process – from material preparation and process parameter setup to automated part handling and quality control. This allows them to gain practical experience with technologies widely used in modern manufacturing companies.
This new acquisition makes a significant contribution to the development of competencies in smart manufacturing, automation, and polymer processing. In addition, a Demo Center has been established at the School of Production Engineering, offering external visitors and industry professionals the opportunity to observe and test the machine in operation.
In the future, the equipment will also be integrated into project-based and research activities, as well as collaborative initiatives with industrial partners.
